This is the Nismo Patrol, a performance version of Nissan’s venerable off roader. However, instead of doing something sensible like making it perform even better off road Nismo went the route of attempting to make this lumbering 6000lb SUV be fast around a track.
Granted, Land Rover kinda pulled it off with the RR Sport SVR but that is smaller in every dimension and way lighter than this behemoth.
I can’t escape the feeling that is a cynical ploy to appeal to wealthy and tasteless Emiratis who must have the latest and greatest versions of their vehicles.

Why is it so common that money is had in inverse proportion to taste?

Just like the X6 M!

The Nismo has only a 20HP increase over the standard Patrol, so even in the power department it falls short.

top end HP isn’t the be all to end all. If it’s true that they’ve fixed torque over the rev range then it could be a different beast altogether.
It would have been nice if they put the Kelly Brothers’ VK56 in there instead though.

I somehow think it looks sorta good

It can’t possibly look worse than it’s Infiniti counterpart

It certainly looks much better! It has less of a bulge at the top of the grill, and the headlights compliment it so well.

Just TB48 things.

So the Nismo Patrol comes to fruition, but not the 240hp 6-speed manual Nismo Sentra?
Thanks, Nissan.

That is exactly what the Nismo Patrol is, and hence why it is only being sold in the middle east.
